ORTHOSKILL is an innovative treatment for mild to medium bone and cartilage degeneration. It uses stem cells collected from your fat to treat painful orthopedic conditions of knees, hips, shoulders, ankles and other joints.

ORTHOSKILL exploits the regenerative components of your body fat to repair the degenerative conditions of bone and cartilage that may arise due to aging or trauma.

Indications

ORTHOSKILL treatment is recommended in case of:

  • Cartilage lesions
    One of the most common condition, corresponding to the very first stage of osteoarthric degeneration.
  • Bone lesions
    Total or partial interruptions to bone continuity. They can be open (if the epidermis and soft tissues above the bone are lacerated) or closed, compound (if bone extremities are not in place) or simple.
  • Tendon and muscular lesion
    Tendon lesions are frequent in athletes, particularly in sports involving jumping and jerking, after repeated overloading (also in working activities). Among predisposing factors are endocrinological disorders (such as thyroid diseases) and muscle imbalances.
    Muscular lesions are frequent in athletes too, and can be developed after direct or indirect trauma.
  • Osteoarthritis
    A joint degenerative disease. It is characterized by the development of new connective and bone around the joint. It usually affect the joints that are most subjected to wear and tear, particularly because of body weight.

Results

Stem cells injection activates and speeds up connective and locomotor system repair

The first results appears evident in 2 to 3 weeks and become complete at the structural level 6 to 8 weeks after the treatment.

Being a biological product, ORTHOSKILL therapeutic efficacy is strictly related to both chronological and biological age. The latter depends on lifestyle and general physical health; obesity, smoke, and alcohol and drugs consumption negatively influence it.

Note: the quality of the biological product, and therefore its therapeutic efficacy, is strictly correlated to the lifestyle and the physical condition of the patient (obesity, smoking, alcohol and drugs will have a negative effect).

Procedure

ORTHOSKILL is based on the injection of mesenchymal stem cells obtained from your adipose tissue (ADSCs). The procedure is rapid and painless.

Collection
20cc of fat are collected in a simple outpatient procedure (fast and painless).

Extraction and Expansion
Stem cells are extracted from collected fat at Bioscience Institute’s laboratories.
Stem cells are expanded in about 2 weeks, producing about 20 cell vials. Part of these cells will be used in the desired treatment (or in multiple treatments).

Treatment 
Expanded cells are injected in the treatment area. Here, they release specific growth factors and promote tissue regeneration.

Cryopreservation
At the customer’s request it is possible to cryopreserve unused vials for 3 years. Cryopreservation warrants the possibility of utilizing expanded cells in new and future Regenerative Medicine treatments.

All the procedures of adipose derived stem cells extraction and expansion are carried out at Bioscience Laboratories. Bioscience Clinic is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Health and Dubai Health Care City Authority to process, release and inject ADSC.
